Sturgis

Owning a motorcycle is something that provides a sense of freedom and pride for their bike.  What better way to share that feeling than with thousands of others by riding out to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally?  The event is held annually and is set for August 8-11, with many heading out the weekend before.

Did you know?

-The Rally was started by the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club.  The American Motorcycle Association began promoting their racing events, which led to the first Rally.

-The first Sturgis Rally was held on August 14, 1938, then known as the Black Hills Classic.  There were nine race participants.

-The focus of this motorcycle rally was originally racing and stunts.

-The largest attendance in Rally history was set in 2008, with numbers exceeding 600,000.
