Motorcycle Maintenance Schedule
How often do you perform the necessary maintenance on your motorcycle? Here are some tips to ensure you are properly taking care of your pride and joy.
Every fill-up:
-Check your tires. Use a tire pressure guage to check both tires. Check tread depth, as well.
-Lubricate your chain with chain spray. Make sure to spray both sides of the chain.
Every 3-6 months:
-Check the battery. This includes voltage, fluid level (top off distilled water only), connections, and cables.
-Change oil and filter. Keep oil at highest level possible and always check when bike level and centered.
Yearly:
-Check brake pad thickness and replace if necessary. Replace brake fluid.
-Check fuel filter and replace if necessary.
-Examine electrical cables and connections for corrosion or cracks and replace damaged ones.
-Clean upholstery and apply protectant to prevent damage.
-Clean thouroughly with degreaser. Wash with warm soap and water; rinse with garden hose. Apply bike polish and wax.
The best way to perform these tasks is with a motorcycle lift. It is a great way to put your Big Wheel Motorcycle Lift to good use and make maintenance so much easier.
